Our Outdoor Areas
The children go out to play rain or shine. The only time they do not go out is if the air quality is not safe. If it is above a certain temperature they are only out for 10-15 min increments, and it is the same if it is below a certain temperature. The children get a turn on each playground throughout the day.
The "woodchip" side
This side of the playground has climbing structures and a sand box. We do not lift children up onto the structures, we let them developmentally learn on their own to climb up. If a child is feeling stuck, or afraid, a teacher will assist or encourage the child.
The "Bike" side
This side of the playground is where the children get the chance to ride trikes, drive cars, draw with chalk, and play in play houses. There are also balls, hula hoops, push toys, and in the winter mud play.
The Prek room
outside area
This area is a little outdoor nook off the Prek room. The Prek class enjoys using this space for planting things, outdoor circle times, and games.
